A cozy and camouflage habitat for a chickadee. A native Ohio bird. I chose a nesting box in order to allow chickadees to nest while being protected from predators.
The black-capped chickadee is a small, non-migrating North American songbird. These birds prefer small, tight fitting birdhouses. They typically nest in woodlands and suburban yards.

Initial Ideation
Final Design Direction
I selected the triangle shaped design as a critical way to disguise the bird house from predators. I then rendered my bird house in Fusion 360 and began to experiment with materials.
Low Fidelity Models
During this process, I quickly made multiple models to get a better understanding of size and scale. This allowed me to get a better grasp on my design and decide what my next steps were.
Mid Fidelity Model
This mid fidelity model was made using plywood, bark and paint samples. The paint samples allowed me to get a better understanding of what material I wanted the roof to be and how it would function.
